FAQ

You may have some questions about Sophisticated Designs, Jewelry by Kathy Mattes, and I will try to answer them here.

How Do I Place an Order?

Ordering is simple. Just click on the item you are interested in, add it to your cart and select your method of payment.

Payment and Shipping

I accept payment through credit card, Paypal or in person via check or cash. Paypal is the most secure and the preferred method of payment. I will ship using USPS Priority Flat Rate Shipping, after packing your purchase carefully to protect from damage. Shipping will occur within 48 hours of receipt of payment or you will receive an email indicating that it will take a little longer.

I Recycle Mailing Materials

You may notice that your package is being sent in a re-used box or envelope. I do that whenever I can, so please do not be offended if you see other markings on the container that your purchase arrives in. The boxes and other containers that I put your purchase in are all pretty and new!

Designs and Measurements

The measurements I give in my descriptions are rounded to the nearest half inch. I try my best to represent the item in real terms, but I can make errors and cannot be held responsible. If you have questions regarding size, fit or color please contact me.

How long do I want my necklace to be?

Longer necklaces are trending now, but the length of your necklace depends on what you will be wearing it with. Take a look at the chart to the below to get an idea of the ranges. The majority of my necklaces fall in the 19 to 24 inch range.

What Size Bracelet Should I Purchase?

If you're not sure how long a bracelet you should purchase, you can use these guidelines:

Measure your actual wrist size just below your wrist bone, using a flexible tape or a string. Based on the fit you prefer, add this much:

Snug fit: 1/4 - 1/2 inch

Comfort fit: 3/4 - 1 inch

Loose fit: 1 1/4 inch

Custom Orders

I strive to create jewelry you will enjoy wearing for many occasions to come. If you do not find exactly what you want please let me know. I would be honored to work with you on a personal, custom design. You can take a look through the Gallery to see what I have done in the past.

Custom orders are awesome and very welcome but will be a final sale, non-returnable/non-refundable. This would also apply to bridal party orders.

Returns & Refunds

If your order does not meet your expectations or is defective, please contact me within 5 days of receiving your package. I will do my best to resolve the problem quickly.

Refunds and exchanges for other reasons are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Postage charges are non-refundable and the customer must pay for the return postage cost.

Privacy Policy

Please see separate Blog post that details our Privacy Policy

Credit to Other Artists

I often purchase handmade lampwork or polymer clay pieces to use as a focal in my work. I will give credit to those artists unless I no longer have that information.

Please feel free to contact me directly if I have not answered your question here.
