The focal Zulu bead was a find at the Colors of the Stone show in Tucson. It is dark ivory with swirled “veins” of navy and jet black, made in lampwork glass and  tumbled for a velvety soft, matte finish. The artist is Tennessaa MacLean, who I have purchased from in the past. 
 
I have incorporated the Zulu into a 3-bead twisted herringbone necklace using similar colors, and encased the lower part of the Zulu in beads as well.
 
The necklace measures 18" in length and closes with a bali sterling silver toggle clasp.
