I have had fun recently finding items in nature that I can replicate with precious metal clay. This redwood bark piece is a great example. It has a great shape and texture. I made a mold from it and then re-created it with pure silver PMC. The added holes on each side allow it to be attached to a beaded rope, leather cord or sterling silver chain. The bark replica measures 1.5 inches wide and about 7/8 inches high.

PMC, or Precious Metal Clay, is a clay product which is easily worked, carved, textured, and shaped, and once fired results in a pure silver piece of art. (I use PMC that is .999 silver, but it is also available in .925 sterling silver, gold, bronze and copper).
